1 Peter and why we are to have such pure conduct

The book of 1 Peter seems to say a lot about how we are to act act Christians. I am not going to list all these verses but here are a few:

2:12
Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
2:15
For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people.
3:1
Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives,
3:16
when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame
4:4
With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you;

It is clear that as believers our deeds our to be pure and blameless for the glory of God and for others to glorify God. We will non-Christians to Christ through our deeds. We will spur Christians on in their by our deeds. Our deeds are evidence to our faith. So really when when you do good deeds you are proving to others and to God that your faith is living and active.

Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
