Jesus Christ is our first love because he is eternal

In Revelation 2, God rebukes Ephesus for forsaking their first love. Over the next few days I am going to look at why Christ is our first love.

Because Jesus Christ is eternal He is to be our first love.

In John 1:1-2 it says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² He was with God in the beginning." We know that the "Word" is Jesus Christ for in John 1:14 is says the "Word became flesh and dwelt among us."

In Revelation 221:6 Jesus says, "I am the Alpha and the Omega."

Jesus Christ is infinite; He was, He is, and He always will be. He had no beginning and therefore He has no end. In Isaiah 40:25 it says, "To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?" There is none like Jesus Christ because there can be only one infinite God. No two things are exactly the same, therefore any other so called "god" would be lacking something that Jesus had and therefore would not be infinite, hence he would not be worthy of all praise, honor, and worship.
